How We Work

A straightforward process, clear costs, and a real relationship. Here's what to expect when we work

Working with a financial advisor shouldn't feel intimidating or mysterious. There are no stuffed suits and no Wall Street jargon here.

My process is designed to help you know what you don't know, financially, from our very first conversation to the years that follow.

My Process

1. Free Initial Consultation

We'll start with a relaxed conversation about where you are, where you want to go, and what's on your mind. You can ask me anything. There's no obligation and no hassle.

2. Discovery

If you'd like to move forward, we'll dig deeper. I'll learn about your goals, concerns, and current accounts, along with your beliefs about money. These intangibles matter just as much as the numbers.

3. Analysis and Recommendations

I'll review everything and come back with clear findings, then walk you through each recommendation in plain language and answer every question before you decide anything.

4. Putting Your Plan in Place

Once you're comfortable, I'll handle the details of opening accounts, transferring assets, and implementing your investment plan. I'll keep you informed at every step, so there are no surprises.

5. Ongoing Management and Reviews

Your plan isn't a one-time event. I'll monitor your investments, rebalance when needed and meet with you regularly to review your progress and adjust as your life changes.

What to Bring to Your First Meeting

You don't need to have everything organized. Bring what you have, and we'll sort through it together. Helpful items include:

  • Recent statements for your investment and retirement accounts
  • Information about any pension, such as TRS
  • A list of your goals and questions
  • Any recent advice you've received that you'd like a second opinion on

Clear Costs, Independent Custody

How I'm Paid:

You deserve to know exactly what you pay and what you get for it. Before we work together, I'll explain all fees in writing, including any underlying fund costs, and provide my Form CRS and Form ADV Part 2A. If any conflict of interest exists, I'll disclose it.

Where Your Money Is Held:

Your assets are held by independent custodians such as Charles Schwab and Fidelity, in accounts in your name. You'll receive statements directly from the custodian and can access your accounts online at any time.

Ready to Take the First Step?

"I do what I do to help you know what you don't know... financially."

You'll work directly with me and our team, not a call center. We'll meet regularly, in person in Lubbock, by phone, or by video, whichever works best for you.

Between meetings, you can call or email me whenever a question comes up or your life changes. It starts with a simple conversation. Let's talk about your goals and see if we're a good fit.
